For a seamless result with the existing lawn, feel free to sow a little beyond the lawn areas to be repaired. First, mow the lawn as low as possible in the lowest cutting position of the lawnmower. This weakens the old stand and gives the new lawn grasses better starting conditions. The short lawn is now intensively scarified, both longitudinally and transversely. Scarifying must be done thoroughly, because this is the only way for the new lawn seed to come into contact with the ground everywhere and to have good germination and development conditions. Water, air and nutrients also reach the lawn roots again. If the lawn is heavily streaked with moss and thatch, it is recommended to apply a special moss killer a few days before scarifying. Completely free the lawn from lawn waste, stones and possible unevenness. Apply the mixture of lawn seed, lawn fertiliser and soil activator evenly by hand, rake in the COMPO SAAT Scarifier Mix and press it down lightly. Depending on the scarifying intensity, an application rate of approx. 30 - 40 g/m² is recommended. If scarifying has created larger gaps in the lawn, the application rate should be increased slightly. After scarifying and applying the scarifier mix, the treated lawn must be watered regularly and intensively, and the still young seedlings must be kept moist throughout Thanks to the scarifier mix, repairing and refreshing the lawn is easy, quick and perfect. The freshly sown lawn should be mowed for the first time from a blade length of at least 8 cm, mowing the grasses down to a maximum length of 6 cm. Tip: To get a feel for the application rate, weigh 40 g of the mixture once and spread it over an area of 1m².
