For 100W output, use a transformer rated above 150W. Transformer power rating should exceed actual usage. Do not use leakage inductance transformers such as microwave oven transformers, paging station transformers, or transmitter transformers. These have inserted silicon steel sheets between primary and secondary windings, resulting in high no-load current and power consumption. Do not use autotransformers, as most do not meet turn count requirements, leading to excessive no-load current and potential board damage.
