The magnesium bow produces a good spark every time that reaches a temperature of up to 3000 degrees. This is hot enough to ignite various materials and thus start a fire. Tip: try lighting cotton wool, possibly lubricated with Vaseline. How does the magnesium fire starter work? 1. Scrape the saw along the magnesium block to create some shavings. 2. Then, run the saw along the fire rod to create a beautiful spark. 3. As soon as it comes into contact with the flammable material (e.g., birch bark, dead leaves, flower buds, dry grass), it will ignite.
