The parallel ruler is designed for chartwork, allowing you to draw bearing lines and course lines on nautical charts. It helps measure and transfer degrees or angles for accurate navigation planning. Two hands each hold one ruler, moving alternately in parallel. When moving, apply appropriate force to keep one foot static while pushing the other, then alternate to reach the required position, preventing static foot displacement.
