Once the monitor is in place, ensure the cable is not exposed to potential damage from steering movement. Setup: This module requires setup after installation. Perform setup only when the engine is warm and idling normally. Choose a long, straight road with light traffic. The unit does not learn the same gear twice, allowing for easy road setup. You may shift down and stop during setup if necessary. Always focus on the road and ride safely. Turn the ignition on. The display counts down from 6 to 1, indicating memory is clear. When "L" is flashing, start the engine in neutral and let it idle. When the display flashes "1", engage second gear. Release the clutch and begin riding normally. The display blinks faster while learning the gear. When "n" (next) appears, shift to second gear. Repeat this process until all gears are learned. In top gear, wait until "o" (over) is shown and the blinking stops. The unit is now programmed and should accurately indicate all gears. When the ignition is turned on again, the display counts up from 1 to 6, confirming it is programmed and fully functional. Reset: If gears are not indicated correctly, reset the unit and repeat the setup. Resetting may also be necessary if front or rear sprockets are changed, or if a speedometer or speed calibrator is installed. To reset, cycle the power six times in succession. Power the unit on and off using the ignition key. During the next startup, the display counts down from 6 to 1, indicating memory is cleared and ready for setup.
